Our Arrive Alive Guarantee

Thank you for your support over the years.  Colorado Coral Farms is currently OUT OF BUSINESS.  We have chosen to step back and do some reefkeeping as hobbyists for a while and have a little spare time to spend elsewhere.

Thank you for visiting Colorado Coral Farm!  We have been providing quality, captive propagated corals to the Colorado area since 1998.  We began shipping our healthy, tank raised corals throughout the US Continental 48 States in 2006.  We have grown and distributed thousands of captive propagated corals.

Here at Colorado Coral Farm we believe in preserving endangered coral ecosystems so we only deal in captive grown coral frags. You can help us preserve natural coral reefs by stocking your aquarium with captive grown corals whenever possible and discouraging the harvest of wild reefs.

We invite you to enjoy browsing through our website.  Please come back often and see what’s new.

About Captive Propagated Coral Frags

WHAT IS A CORAL FRAG?

A coral frag is a small cutting taken from the Mother Coral and mounted on a small “plug” or piece of rubble rock.

WHY SHOULD I BUY A FRAG WHEN I CAN BUY A WHOLE COLONY?

There are many good reasons to purchase coral frags.

1)  Every frag you purchase allows a coral in the ocean to stay in the ocean. There is no denying that it is the most ecologically friendly way to have a reef tank.

2)  The health of the coral. A wild coral may not adapt to captivity. Captive propagated corals have fully adapted to life in captivity.

3)  Price. You can get an assortment of coral frags for what you would pay for a single wild colony.

4)  Color. The nicest color corals get picked over VERY quickly–if they even get to Colorado.

5)  Growth forms. Wild colonies often have partial sections die off because of different lighting conditions and water flow condition. A coral frag will grow in the shape that best suits it’s new environment.
